The first step of editing like the others is to crop the image because I want to concentrate a lot more on the HDR reflection that I am going to try and create.

My next step is to increase the tone of the photo because I feel as if the brightness could be slightly reduce by bringing in some tone to the photo which could add a lot more depth and make it easier for me to distinguish the photos parts I want to make a prime example of HDR towards.

Now that I have adjusted the overall tone of the photo I now want to adjust the Brightness and possibly make it darker whilst increasing the contrast which would level out the overall lighting within the photo. The screenshot below shows what I chose to do with my adjustments and what I believe looked best with this image.

Third Edit

This is an example of the architecture there is in New York, this is located right by Grand Central Station just outside my hotel in New York. Because we had a lot to get done when I went I tried to get as much photography done as possible so I carried my camera round every avenue and mall. To take this shot I remember positioning myself below a three set of stairs and crouching to get the best angle and ultimately to create the best composition for the photo to be set which also brought the rule of thirds into mind and how I could bring all the buildings into one photo and present them in a contrasting way. However unlike Long-exposure I never used my tripod I had to rely on free hand which in some ways is better because it allows you to capture aphoto in the best angle. I believe this photo will be edited quite well  because it has a lot of glass and

reflections which with HDR can really look effective. Now that I have the image I wish I would of experimented with different angles to get more reflections so for future reference I will create more atmosphere shots that will be presented in a modern way which I believe is the way architectural photography should be presented. I shot this photo on an Automatic Setting because when I tested some other Setting out like No Flash I was getting too much light in the frame and because we were in a rush I resulted in shooting it was Manual Focus and my cameras Automatic Setting. I believe the photo has a wide range of focal points but If I was to point one main one out it would be one of the buildings reflections in the glass you see too the left however another contrasting point in the non-glass building in the middle of the photo which really stands out because it is the only non-glass building in the frame however this plays a key part because it is white it allows a lot of room for reflection and the brightness to be increased. In this photo I like many things one being the movement in the American flag but my favourite part is definitely the reflection in the glass, this was intent even though if I was to go back and take the same photo I would probably get a slightly similar reflection but however it allows a lot of room for editing because you can really bring out the glare are sky that is in the glass by using HDR. However one big negative to this photo is the overall brightness, I feel that It needs to be turned down a lot and then re adjusted to suit the whole photo however when you turn down the brightness you run the risk of losing some of the reflection because that is how reflection is created through the use of light and brightness so when I edit this photo I will make sure that I will adjust the brightness in a positive way so that I keep all the pictures real beauty being the reflections and most of all the tremendous architecture. And lastly I am going to crop the image to a point where the image becomes a lot easier to control with Brightness because it could ruin the whole photo if it is not carried out carefully.

My last step is once again to adjust the Vibrance and Saturation of the photo because this is where I can get more colours that are needed in the photo. The screen shot above shows how much I adjusted these two tools by but I still believe there is a lot more colour to be included in the photo.

Once I edited the Hue balance I then moved on to edit the Saturation which helps develop the colours that have been increased through the hue so the whole process supports each other very well and hopefully by the end of the photo it will all contrast well together.

The first step I took on Lightroom was to edit the Hue because it was obvious that my photo needed a lot more colour bringing back into it, and by increasing them up fully really brings out all the missing colours that should be in the image but is removed through white balance.

The last thing I edited on Lightroom was the photographs Luminance which I made a few minor changes too because I wanted to create a smooth feeling with the colours I had found rather than making them too bold and bright which could affect the HDR affect.

This is my final edited photo, as you can see I’ve managed to level out all the white balance within in the photo and replace it with a lot of colour that was originally not there. The HDR affect I gave this photo has worked really well as you can see the buildings reflection really well as well as the colours in the buildings behind which wasn’t there before I edited the photo. So too conclusion I have created the atmosphere and tone I wanted in the photo and also tried to keep as much of the photos real beauty before adding the HDR affect which makes the photo look really modern like Zach Schnepf’s portfolio.

This is the final photo now that I have finished with Photoshop but I still feel that the picture white balance is too high which will affect the HDR affect I will eventually create because of the lack of colour it has to work with and the only way I can adjust it now is through the use of Adobe Lightroom so I am now going to record my editing process through Lightroom.
